Cash for Clunkers list and Eligibility, Cash for Clunkers List. Car Allowance Rebate System (CARS) is better known as “Cash for Clunkers” is the government’s new vehicle trade-in program. Recently, the U.S. Government passed legislation providing vouchers valued from $3,500 to $4,500 when you trade-in a vehicle and purchase a new one that meets or exceeds higher MPG standards.
If you are thinking about trading your old clunker for some cold cash which you can use to buy a new car, it is good to see the list of Cash for Clunkers eligible vehicles. If your old car is not in the list then you cannot trade it for cash under this program.
EPA issued revised new combined MPG numbers for an unknown number of vehicles on July 24th 2009. Consequently some vehicles that had previously qualified for the Cash for Clunkers program will no longer qualify.
We will give list of eligible vehicles as soon as possible, but due to unpredicted change in EPA data we suggest you to confirm your vehicle’s new combined MPG by visiting FuelEconomy.gov.
